Casey is a Co-founder of Evergreen Behavioral health and serves as Executive Director. With over four years of experience in the field, Casey has served in the roles of Case Manager and Program Director working closely with clients and their families to provide individualized support and guidance. Drawing from both professional expertise and personal experience – being a person in long-term addiction recovery – Casey brings a unique depth of empathy and understanding to his work. His journey has fueled a deep passion for helping others overcome adversity and reclaim their lives. Now, in his role as Executive Director, Casey focuses on leading and supporting a dedicated team of professionals to ensure every client receives exceptional care. He is deeply committed to creating a culture of compassion, integrity, and excellence across all levels of the organization. When not working, Casey loves going to Gillette Stadium and the TD Garden to watch his two favorite teams, the Patriots and the Celtics.
Erica Velarde, LCSW, CCS serves as the Clinical Director at Evergreen Behavioral Health in South Portland. With nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Erica has worked with individuals across the lifespan — from young children seeking connection to adults navigating the complexities of life and striving for meaningful change. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in solution-focused work, while also emphasizing the importance of understanding the deeper emotional patterns that influence thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.
Over the course of her career, Erica has provided care in therapeutic day schools, community mental health settings, and private practice. Her role as Clinical Director reflects her dedication to expanding access to care, promoting mental health education, and reducing barriers for those seeking support. Erica integrates a variety of evidence-based techniques into her practice, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing — all within a holistic framework that considers both mind and body.
She works with clients facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions. Known for her grounded, compassionate, and gently humorous approach, Erica provides a safe and supportive space where clients can build insight, develop practical skills, and experience lasting personal growth.
Outside of work, you can often find Erica on the sidelines at Saco sports fields cheering on her children or enjoying the beach. She is most fulfilled when spending time with her family.
